Summer Sitting Meditation
Rebecca Eldridge invites the community to join together for sitting meditation on Sundays in July. Summer Sitting is offered at no charge, although voluntary donations to support the work are always welcome and appreciated.
What to expect:
A short teaching will be offered at the start of each session, after which there will be guided sitting meditation. Brief sharing is welcome as we close. We will end promptly at 6pm..
About Rebecca Eldridge:
Rebecca is certified through UMass Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness to teach mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), which she does across Hampton Roads and online to people throughout the US and beyond. She has been featured giving meditation instruction as part of two online courses taught by her teacher, Pema Chödrön: Making Friends with Yourself and How to Live with Compassion and Courage. For the last four winters, Rebecca has spent 2 months on retreat at Gampo Abbey in Nova Scotia, where she teaches MBSR to monastics. She has also taught mindfulness to cancer survivors, people in chronic pain, medical and mental health professionals, and others who want to live and love fully.
Free although voluntary donations to support the work are always welcome and appreciated

There are stairs at this location. No elevator.
What to do:
Show up 5-10 minutes early to settle in. There are plenty of chairs and a few cushions for sitting on the floor. Feel free to bring anything that might help you sit.
